whodunnit! halloween event pieria.
The party's been going for a while now, everyone comfortably full and more at ease. There's the rumble of thunder in the distance, adding to the atmosphere. And then, all at once, the lights are blown out. It's pitch-black for a few moments, the only sounds angry and startled voices, and then, they’re lit again quickly. There's a man lying on the ground, as if he'd fallen. Or maybe the reason is... more sinister.
Eames is there, immediately, having changed clothes, walks up. "This man is in no real trouble. Show 'em, Anatolios!"
And the man sits up, opens his eyes, and waves, before returning to his job of being the corpse.
"For the game's purpose, Anatolios will play the part of-" He pauses. "-the murder victim!"
Lightning flashes, followed by loud crack of thunder. Eames looks startled for a moment, then continues, sticking his pipe (with nothing in it) in his mouth, the next words a little slurred as a result.
"Our game, my dears, is a mystery game. I will give you a scenario, and you must determine, with your clever minds, who the culprit is. You may consult others, but be aware! There aren't just treats here, but tricks as well. Good luck."
[ooc: Below I will sum up what Eames says without his theatrics. You must decide IC-ly, not OOC-ly. Our Mystery
A man named Johnson was murdered.
Mr. Johnson was a rather loud, big man, sometimes charming and sometimes easily angered. He was an avid hunter, and thought the more people around, the better. He lived in a huge mansion, but he was thinking about scaling back. He was cheating on his wife, Mrs. Johnson, with a woman with the last name Sanders. Mrs. Johnson was trying to convince Mr. Johnson to break it off with Sanders. Johnson owed his business partner, Gregg, a lot of money. He died between six pm and 7 pm on Friday, lying on the study floor with stab wounds in his stomach. There was a lit cigar on the desk when police arrived at the scene. Gregg, his business partner, discovered his body, and claims he only used a key and touched the door knob. He did not touch anything else. The lock on the door did not look tampered with. There was nothing of note except a gold (plain band, no inscription) ring on the floor.
Mrs. Johnson is a fashionista. She’s rather mean to people “below” her. She has access to her husband’s study (a key), but rarely enters it because she hates cigar smoke. When police questioned her, she was cold and distant, her eye on Gregg. She claimed she had no gold rings, and was wearing two silver ones (engagement and wedding) at the time of questioning. The ring fit her finger. She also claimed she has no access to knives.
Sanders is also a loud, merry person, with a fiery temper at times. She spent Mr. Johnson’s money like crazy. Sanders was also at the mansion that night. At the time of questioning, she was deeply upset. An injury on her wrist was noted, but the suspect claimed it was an allergy and took off her bracelet. There were no other visible injuries on the suspect. Sanders seemed angry at the thought that she was a suspect, and threatened to call her lawyer. She has access to Johnson’s study (a key) and claimed she did not use it that night. She claimed she had no gold rings, and was wearing no rings at the time of questioning. The ring fit her finger. She also claimed she has no access to knives.
Gregg is a nervous man, though he’s very charming when he puts his mind to it. He’s been in business with Johnson for years, though he spends money like it’s going out of style. He does not have access to Johnson’s study, but he used Mrs. Johnson’s key when he was worried about Mr. Johnson. Gregg claimed he had no access to gold rings at the time of questioning (and there was no way the ring would fit), and says that he does have access to hunting knives. He has hunted with Mr. Johnson plenty of times throughout the years. He seemed very jumpy and kept glancing at Mrs. Johnson.
Mr. Johnson had retreated to his study after dinner. Gregg claimed he went to their library to read in an armchair and dozed off. No one could confirm. Mrs. Johnson claimed she went to sleep. No one could not confirm. Sanders claimed she was in the kitchen, baking cookies. A cook claimed she heard noises and smelled something baking, but was busy and so did not check visually.
Who did it?
